Armação de Pêra
Armação de Pêra was developed from a small fishing community, whose first known written reference goes back to 1577.
The name of our village comes from the existence of a tuna fishing frame near Pêra (village located about 3 km) in the coastal area now known as Pera Bay. In addition to explaining the origin of the name of the current Armação de Pêra, it indicates that as early as 1577 there existed a small fishing community seasonally or permanently fixed in this territory.
